Located off Highway One 6.5 to 7 hours drive north east of Melbourne,
just over three hours from Canberra and 8 hours drive south
of Sydney, Mallacoota (coastal retreat accommodation) makes a great
short break destination, as well as a firm favourite for longer holidays.
Mallacoota is in the East Gippsland shire, Australia.
By air
Alternatively, you can take a one hour flight to Merimbula from
Sydney or Melbourne with Regional Express (REX) Airlines from Sydney
and Melbourne) and pick up a hire car at Merimbula airport (Thrifty
and Budget cars available). Mallacoota is 1.5 hour’s
drive south of Merimbula airport.
The left-hand turn to Karbeethong Lodge is clearly signposted as you
approach Mallacoota township. Alternatively, you can go into town and
turn left at the roundabout, driving out to Karbeethong Lodge along
the lakeshore.
